CADD is the most comprehensive resource available for differential diagnosis of Oral Cancer and 260 soft tissue conditions and diseases. CADD's differential diagnosis system was originally developed from a National Institute of Health study to systematize teaching of oral pathology. Using the system, a differential diagnosis can typically be obtained in less than sixty seconds. In addition, CADD includes the following:

CADD asks you a rapid series of questions to reach a differential diagnosis. It includes tutorials to aid in your understanding of descriptive terms and pathology principles. The beginning screen and a sample diagnosis is shown below. Approximately ten mouseclicks were needed to produce the differential diagnosis. On completion, the information can be printed, stored in a case file, and securely emailed to labs or specialists. Several reports are available from the case file: the Diagnosis (Oral Mucosal Examination Summary), the full Oral Mucosal and Soft Tissue Evaluation, the Biopsy Tracking Report, and a comprehensive Case Report and Referral that includes patient images. As a clinical reference tool, CADD deals with Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases occurring in Dentistry or Medicine. At the heart of CADD is a disease database of over 600 diseases, conditions, and syndromes of the oral, head, and neck complex. It includes more than 1800 color photos and various oral, head, and neck radiographs. The database includes a compilation of Signs and Symptoms as well as information such as Age, Sex, Race, Duration, Pain, Other Lesions, Change in Character, Associated Systemic Disease, Texture, Tests, and Misc. The information is not available in as rapidly accessible and concise a format from any other known source.

How CADD is used in practice:
Upon patient's arrival, the professional (physician, dentist, nurse, or medical/dental auxiliary) may detect some condition during initial examination or discussion with the patient. Pictures may be taken to support the exam and imported into CADD. Answering a set of automated questions, the professional is able to produce, print, and save the differential diagnosis as desired. Along with other pertinent patient information, the case file may be securely emailedto the desired lab or specialist.
Armed with the proper technical information, the practitioner can manage the patient with greater knowledge, recommend the preferred treatment or referral to proper specialist, and demonstrate to the patient the current and future progress of the disease or condition if not treated.
